Age of The Nerd
Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman are about to turn the presidential limousine into the ultimate weapon. Lionsgate has unveiled the first look at The Beast, an explosive new action thriller from director Renny Harlin, and if the teaser trailer is any indication, this is one presidential joyride that is going very, very wrong.
The upcoming film stars Oscar-nominated powerhouse Samuel L. Jackson alongside RoboCop and The Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman, with Guy Burnet rounding out the cast.
In The Beast, the President of the United States finds himself in an absolute nightmare scenario when a militia of unidentified hostiles launches a coordinated coup against the country. With the nation under attack and his Secret Service agent critically injured, the President is forced to take matters into his own hands—and behind the wheel.
But this isn’t your average presidential limousine.
As the situation spirals out of control, the President must unlock the highly classified offensive capabilities hidden inside “The Beast” in order to protect his injured agent, reunite with his wife, and, naturally, save the world.
Because apparently being President wasn’t stressful enough.
Directed by Renny Harlin, the filmmaker behind action favorites including Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Beast promises to deliver plenty of high-octane thrills, explosive action, and the kind of ridiculous-in-the-best-way premise that makes action movies so much fun.
The film is written by Umair Aleem and features a cast led by Samuel L. Jackson, Joel Kinnaman, and Guy Burnet.
And yes, based on the premise alone, we’re already very curious to see exactly what this seemingly ordinary presidential limo has been hiding under the hood.
