San Diego Comic-Con is always packed with unforgettable moments, but Prime Video and IGN delivered one of the weekend’s biggest celebrations with an immersive The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power takeover at FLOAT inside the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday night.
Fans were treated to a party worthy of Mordor itself, complete with an exclusive 20-minute guest DJ set from Jamie Campbell Bower, who is joining The Rings of Power for its highly anticipated third season. The crowd also witnessed the chilling debut of the Nazgnagôls—Sauron’s terrifying new ring-servants—giving attendees an early glimpse of one of Season 3’s biggest additions before the series returns on November 11, 2026.
The experience didn’t stop there. Fans had the opportunity to sit upon Sauron’s throne, snap unforgettable photos, and get an up-close look at the Dark Lord’s intimidating crown and gauntlet, making the event one of Comic-Con’s most immersive fan experiences.

Middle-earth Faces Its Darkest Hour
Season 3 picks up five years after the fall of Eregion, with Sauron’s armies sweeping across Middle-earth in their quest for total domination. Only a handful of strongholds remain standing, including Khazad-dûm, Lindon, and Rivendell, as the Free Peoples struggle to unite against an unstoppable darkness.
Meanwhile, inside the newly completed fortress of Barad-dûr, Sauron works tirelessly to forge the weapon that will change Middle-earth forever—the One Ring. As Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Wizards face impossible odds, the fate of the world hangs by a thread.
One of Prime Video’s Biggest Global Hits
Since its debut, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has become one of Prime Video’s biggest original series. According to Amazon, the show has attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide, with Season One remaining the platform’s biggest television premiere and Season Two ranking among its most-watched returning series.
Both previous seasons are currently available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, giving fans plenty of time to revisit Middle-earth before the battle resumes this November.
For Tolkien fans, Prime Video’s San Diego Comic-Con celebration wasn’t just another party—it was an exciting reminder that the war for Middle-earth is only just beginning. With new villains, returning heroes, and Sauron’s power continuing to grow, Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest streaming events.
