Tokyo’s about to get monstrous — in the best way possible. Starting December 2025, travelers passing through Haneda Airport Terminal 3 will be greeted (and bid farewell) by none other than the King of the Monsters himself. The HANEDA GODZILLA GLOBAL PROJECT is officially underway, bringing the world’s largest Godzilla monument to Japan’s busiest international gateway.
The epic collaboration between Toho Co., Ltd., Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., and the Tokyo International Air Terminal Corporation promises to blend Japanese pop culture with travel in a way only Godzilla could pull off.

Rendering of the Godzilla Monument in the Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Departure Lobby
After stomping through seven decades of cinematic history — the big guy celebrated his 70th anniversary in 2024 — Godzilla’s next invasion spot is Haneda Airport, where he’ll tower over travelers in an awe-inspiring display of scale and spectacle. Measuring roughly 131 feet wide and 20 feet high, this exclusive monument will dominate the Departure Lobby on the 3rd floor, greeting passengers as they set off on their adventures.
But that’s not all. The Arrival Lobby on the 2nd floor will feature legendary kaiju graphics overhead, and fans of Godzilla Minus One will be thrilled to see a special statue of that film’s version of the beast ready to welcome visitors back to Tokyo.
The project is all about celebrating Japan’s unique blend of tradition, creativity, and cinematic legacy — with Godzilla serving as both a guardian and greeter. Think of it as the ultimate “Welcome to Japan” (and “See you next time”) from one of the country’s most iconic exports.
