Warner Bros. TV Scores Big at the Emmys with The Pitt and The Penguin

The 77th Emmy Awards turned into a major victory lap for Warner Bros. Television, with two of its powerhouse HBO Max series cleaning up in style.

The freshman medical drama The Pitt came out swinging (or maybe scalpel in hand?), landing five Emmy wins in its very first season. Not only did it snag the coveted Outstanding Drama Series, but longtime fan-favorite Noah Wyle took home his very first Emmy for Lead Actor. Talk about a career milestone! His co-star Katherine LaNasa also earned her first statue for Supporting Actress, while Shawn Hatosy grabbed a Guest Actor win, and the show’s casting team rounded it all out with a win of their own. Not bad for a series just getting started.

If that wasn’t enough, Warner Bros. also flexed some serious Gotham grit with The Penguin. The gritty DC crime drama racked up nine Emmy Awards, with Cristin Milioti taking home her first Emmy for her scene-stealing turn as Sofia Falcone. Along with acting honors, the series dominated in everything from makeup and costumes to sound and VFX. Basically, The Penguin proved it’s more than just a spin-off — it’s an awards juggernaut.

Warner Bros. Television Group CEO Channing Dungey summed it up best, calling The Pitt “a masterfully produced series which represents excellence on every level” and praising the “towering performance” of Cristin Milioti in The Penguin.
