Age of The Nerd
Hollywood likes money. And fans love horror movies. New Line and Warner Bros are seeing that with their film, Weapons, which had no trouble staying atop the chart in its second week with an estimated $25 million from 3,450 locations.
The movie follows the seemingly inexplicable case of seventeen children from the same classroom who mysteriously run away on the same night at the same time, having been abducted by an unseen force. The Weapons movie is the sophomore effort of Zach Cregger, who brought us the excellent horror movie Barbarian in 2022.
The film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. Weapons is a hit with fans and critics, and many are speculating on the next film. Various media outlets are reporting that due to the success of the film’s release, Warner Bros is interested in doing another film.
Weapons was beautifully written and left more questions than answers. We don’t want to give any spoilers here, but after seeing the film, we’re just dying to know where Aunt Gladys came from. Who was the girl speaking at the beginning and end of the film, but was never seen?
