The Lawrence Brothers Are Back—And This Time, They’re Solving Crimes (Sort Of) New Graphic Novel The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency Launches July 24th on Kickstarter

Cue the nostalgia and prepare for chaos—because the Lawrence Brothers are diving headfirst into the world of comics, and it’s gloriously weird.

That’s right: Joey, Matthew, and Andrew Lawrence—the trio who ruled our TV screens in the ’90s and early 2000s (Blossom, Boy Meets World, Brotherly Love, anyone?)—are now reimagining themselves as reluctant, washed-up pop icons-turned-detectives in their first-ever graphic novel, The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency. The series, a hilarious and twisted take on fame, fandom, and forgotten celebrity, officially launches July 24, 2025, on Kickstarter.

The brothers are teaming up with pop-culture pranksters The Berkowitz Brothers (best known for Josh Gad’s The Writer), artist Sean Von Gorman (the mind behind The Pedestrian), and publisher Z2 Comics to bring this fever-dream noir to life. Picture this: Comic-Con gone wild, an AI-run nostalgia prison, a celebrity cult rewriting entertainment history… oh, and monsters. Lots of monsters.

“We are so excited to bring The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency to life with the Berkowitz Brothers,” said the Lawrences. “You’ve never seen us like this before. We can’t wait for you to join us on this epic, bizarre, and hilarious journey. Plus—we finally get to solve some mysteries!”

The series blends sharp satire with surreal storytelling, imagining the brothers battling an ever-morphing Hollywood landscape. Think BoJack Horseman meets Chinatown, with a healthy dose of sibling squabbling and meta mayhem. Written by the Lawrence Bros and the Berkowitz Bros (plus additional writing from Brian Yuran), and featuring art by Eisner-nominated Sean Von Gorman, this is not your typical celebrity comeback.

Want to hear more straight from the source? Catch the team live at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 27 in Room 6DE from 11:15am–12:15pm PT. The panel, hosted by pop culture journalist Ryan J. Downey (MTV News, Billboard), promises laughs, behind-the-scenes stories, and maybe even a few cryptic clues about what’s in store for the comic’s twisted mystery.

So whether you’re a lifelong Lawrence fan or just love a good satirical deep dive into the absurdity of fame—get ready to click “Back This Project” and join the detective agency. Hollywood’s never looked so strange.
