Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for “M3GAN 2.0,” the anticipated sequel to the 2023 horror-comedy hit. The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 27, 2025.
The teaser, which debuted during the 2025 Grammy Awards, features the AI doll M3GAN performing her signature dance moves to Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon.”
Set two years after the original film, “M3GAN 2.0” follows Gemma, portrayed by Allison Williams, who has become an advocate for AI regulation. A defense contractor has stolen M3GAN’s technology to create a military-grade robot named Amelia, leading Gemma to resurrect and upgrade M3GAN to combat this new threat.
The sequel reunites the original cast, including Williams and Violet McGraw, and introduces new members such as Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement. Director Gerard Johnstone returns to helm the project, aiming to explore evolving fears surrounding artificial intelligence and its societal impact.
