Age of The Nerd
Get ready to mark your calendars and brace yourselves, because Vertical is unleashing WE BURY THE DEAD exclusively in theaters nationwide on January 2, 2026 — and this one looks like a pulse-pounding must-see.
Written and directed by Zak Hilditch, the film boasts a powerhouse production team including Kelvin Munro, Grant Sputore, Ross M. Dinerstein, Joshua Harris, and Mark Fasano. Leading the charge is Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Cleaner), joined by an impressive supporting cast featuring Brenton Thwaites (Titans), Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin), and Matt Whelan (Narcos).
Set in the aftermath of a devastating military catastrophe, WE BURY THE DEAD flips the undead genre on its head. The fallen don’t just rise — they hunt. While the military assures the public that the reanimated are slow, manageable, and harmless, that comforting narrative begins to crumble. When Ava (Ridley) ventures into a restricted quarantine zone in search of her missing husband, she stumbles upon a terrifying reality: the dead are evolving. They’re faster, fiercer, and growing more violent by the hour.
Equal parts emotional survival story and escalating nightmare, WE BURY THE DEAD promises relentless tension, haunting revelations, and a chilling reminder that sometimes the truth is far more dangerous than the monsters themselves.
