Paging drama fans—The Pitt is officially back in action. HBO Max has dropped the first trailer and key art for Season Two of its Emmy®-winning medical drama, and it’s clear the stakes are higher, the hallways are busier, and the emotional punches hit even harder this time around.
From John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, the Max Original series—created by ER alum R. Scott Gemmill and led by the ever-reliable Noah Wyle—returns Thursday, January 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The new season will roll out weekly across 15 episodes, culminating in a season finale on April 16.
What Is The Pitt?
Set inside a modern-day Pittsburgh hospital, The Pitt takes a no-gloss, no-filter look at the real-life pressures facing today’s healthcare workers. Think less soap opera, more frontline realism—where every shift matters and every decision can change lives.

An Awards Juggernaut
If Season One flew under your radar, the awards certainly didn’t miss it. Premiering in January 2025, The Pitt racked up 13 Emmy® nominations and five wins, including Outstanding Drama Series. Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa both took home their first-ever Emmy wins, alongside recognition for casting and guest performances. Add in Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations, and this show is officially must-watch prestige TV.
Accessibility Matters
HBO Max is also continuing its commitment to accessibility. Season Two will stream in American Sign Language (ASL) alongside each episode starting on premiere night, interpreted by James “Joey” Cavalry, Amelia Hensley, and Stephanie Nogueras, and directed by Sarah Tubert. Even better, Season One will become available in ASL on December 21, making it easier than ever to catch up before the new season begins.
Want More Pitt Between Episodes?
You’re covered. An official video companion podcast will stream on HBO Max immediately after each episode, hosted by pop culture commentator Hunter Harris and medical expert Dr. Alok Patel, offering behind-the-scenes insight and deeper dives into the show’s toughest moments.
Bottom line: if you’re craving smart, intense, emotionally grounded drama—with a cast and creative team that know this world inside and out—The Pitt Season Two is about to become your weekly appointment television.
