A Farewell Worthy of the Upside Down
To mark the beginning of the end, Netflix went big. On Sunday, December 28, an epic Stranger Things drone show took over the Las Vegas skyline, featuring 5,000 choreographed drones, pyrotechnics, and massive functional character visuals — the largest and most ambitious public drone show ever staged in the U.S.
Hundreds of fans lined the Las Vegas Strip to witness iconic moments from the series brought to life in the sky, capped off with a surprise appearance from Vecna himself, actor Jamie Campbell Bower. Hawkins may be fictional, but the fandom is very real.

What’s at Stake in the Final Season
Set in the fall of 1987, Stranger Things 5 finds Hawkins permanently scarred by the opening of the Rifts. Our heroes are united by one mission: find and kill Vecna. The problem? He’s vanished.
With the government placing Hawkins under military quarantine and intensifying its hunt for Eleven, she’s forced back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance approaches, a familiar dread settles in. The final battle is coming — darker, deadlier, and more personal than ever before.
To end this nightmare, it won’t be enough to fight alone. The full party must stand together one last time.
A Legendary Cast Returns One Final Time
The final season brings back the beloved ensemble that made Stranger Things a phenomenon, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, and Jamie Campbell Bower, alongside Linda Hamilton and more.
From ‘80s Love Letter to Global Phenomenon
Created by The Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most successful series of all time. Season 4 alone pulled in over 140 million global views, revived Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”, and helped the show rack up 70+ awards and over 230 nominations, including Emmys and SAG Awards.
Beyond the screen, the franchise continues to thrive with the Tony-winning stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, immersive experiences, books, an upcoming animated series, and annual celebrations of Stranger Things Day on November 6.
But tonight… it all comes back to Hawkins.
The End Is Here
So grab your Eggos, call your party, and get ready to say goodbye. The final episode of Stranger Things premieres tonight at 5 PM PT, only on Netflix. One last fight. One last ride. One last chance to save the world.
Friends don’t lie — and endings don’t get bigger than this.
