Jason Statham Is Back in High-Octane Survival Mode — First Trailer for SHELTER Drops!

Get ready, action fans — Jason Statham is storming back onto the big screen, and this time he’s bringing a pulse-pounding survival thriller straight to theaters. Black Bear has unleashed the first trailer for SHELTER, and if the footage is any indication, we’re in for a fierce, emotional, and adrenaline-fueled ride when the film hits theaters January 30, 2026.

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the blockbuster mind behind Greenland and Angel Has Fallen, SHELTER pairs Statham with rising star Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) in a tense, intimate story of danger, redemption, and high-stakes heroism. The cast also packs serious prestige with Naomi Ackie (Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody) and legendary Oscar nominee Bill Nighy (Living).

A Storm, A Rescue, And A Past That Won’t Stay Buried

Statham plays a reclusive island loner who saves a young girl from a deadly storm — but the act of compassion catapults them both into life-threatening peril. Forced to leave the shadows of isolation, he’s confronted by the ghosts of his past while defending the girl from new dangers. What follows is a gripping journey across treacherous landscapes, where survival means battling not just the elements, but the demons he’s tried to outrun.

A Powerhouse Team Behind the Action

Produced by Black Bear, Punch Palace Pictures, CineMachine, and Stampede Ventures, SHELTER is backed by an all-star team. Jason Statham himself steps in as producer alongside Black Bear’s John Friedberg, Brendon Boyea, Greg Silverman, and Jon Berg. Executive producers include Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Andrew Golov, Ric Roman Waugh, and more — with a screenplay by Ward Parry.
