WMMR Will Host A Concert Next Month Celebrating Beloved DJ Pierre Robert

The music community, along with the radio airwaves, is still mourning the sudden passing of beloved WMMR DJ Pierre Robert, who died last month at 70.

The disc jockey had been on the air for more than forty years in Philadelphia on rock station 93.3 WMMR. Roberts has famously told the story of traveling cross-country in his hippie van from California before landing the disc jockey job at WMMR.

WMMR-FM is planning a special tribute concert next month to honor him. The tribute concert, “Pierre Robert: A Show of Life,” will take place at 10 p.m. at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. The lineup includes Brent & Zach of Shinedown Lzzy & Joe of Halestorm; Ed Roland of Collective Soul; The Hooters; and David Uosikkinen’s In the Pocket featuring The A’s, Beru Revue, and Tommy Conwell.

“Pierre loved live music and enjoyed being among the good citizens of Philadelphia,” said Chuck Damico, Program Director, WMMR. “‘The Pierre Robert: A Show of Life’ is a special event for all of us who cherished him, providing a fantastic night of live music and memories while honoring Pierre’s amazing life, and helping reduce food shortages in Philadelphia.”

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 21, at 10 a.m. at http://The Fillmore Philly website.
