Age of The Nerd
Grab your cloaks and clutch your windswept moors — Warner Bros. Pictures has officially unleashed the trailer for Wuthering Heights, Emerald Fennell’s bold, twisted new take on one of literature’s most chaotic love stories. And yes, it looks every bit as intense, sexy, and unhinged as you’d expect from the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.
Leading the charge is Margot Robbie, nabbing roles like Infinity Stones at this point, stepping into the stormy shoes of Cathy. She stars opposite Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff — because apparently the universe collectively decided we needed the tallest, dreamiest incarnation of Brontë’s brooding antihero. Their chemistry in the trailer? Fer feral.
This reinterpretation takes the classic tale of forbidden passion and cranks it up to full-blown operatic madness: lust, obsession, and emotional warfare set against a moor that definitely needs a therapist of its own.
The stacked supporting cast includes Oscar nominee Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, BAFTA winner Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell (yes, Aemond Targaryen fans, rejoice).
Fennell is pulling double — okay, triple — duty here: writing, directing, and producing the film alongside Josey McNamara and Robbie herself. The dream-team behind the camera is equally loaded, with frequent Fennell collaborators like cinematographer Linus Sandgren, production designer Suzie Davies, editor Victoria Boydell, and composer Anthony Willis all returning to the chaos. And in what might be the most inspired move yet, Oscar winner Jacqueline Durran handles costume design while Charli XCX drops original songs for the film. Yes — Charli XCX on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack. Goth-pop angels, we are eating.
Wuthering Heights hits theaters nationwide on February 13, 2026 — Valentine’s Day weekend, because nothing says romance like two beautiful people emotionally annihilating each other across decades.
And if you want to go full doom-romantic, you can already preorder Charli XCX’s Wuthering Heights album at wutheringheights.charlixcx.com.
