Age of The Nerd
The horror legend behind The Walking Dead and Creepshow dives into his new Shudder competition series!
When it comes to horror legends, Greg Nicotero is in a league of his own. The award-winning director, producer, and effects wizard behind The Walking Dead, Creepshow, and a laundry list of genre classics has spent decades redefining what it means to scare—and inspire—audiences. Now, Nicotero is taking his love for monsters, makeup, and mayhem to a whole new arena with Guts & Glory, a brand-new horror reality competition series premiering October 14th on Shudder.
Part game show, part blood-soaked love letter to practical effects, Guts & Glory puts a spotlight on the next generation of special effects artists as they battle it out in creative (and delightfully gruesome) challenges that celebrate the craft of horror. With Nicotero steering the ship as director and executive producer, expect plenty of passion, prosthetics, and pure genre geekery.
Age of the Nerd caught up with Nicotero to talk about what it was like bringing this ambitious project to life and so much more! Listen to our full interview below:
