Age of The Nerd
King Of The Hill season 14 has premiered with ten brand-new episodes on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+!
After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.
Season 14 Cast: Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.
We had a chance to catch up the King of the Hill cast during San Diego Comic Con, as well as check out the amazing activation that was a must visit for all fans of the series!
When speaking with Mike Judge, he commented that “there were so many ideas floating around and during the beginning we used to compare the Andy Griffith Show…saying Andy Griffith is back and he’s pissed off because we grew up with that show and now it’s Hank is back, and he’s pissed off! There is this whole new world of things to annoy him and hopefully people like it!”
Judge went on to say, “Of course Bobby is older and people have always wanted to see Bobby and Connie together and it was this idea that was out there in the universe and people who wanted King Of The Hill back wanted with the characters older.”
Talking approaching the characters again after fifteen years have gone by Pamela Adlon, who voices Bobby Hill commented, “I’ve always been very protective of Bobby so when we were recording the first thirteen seasons…the original series, I would say…’oh, maybe Bobby doesn’t say fruit pie anymore like for two seasons…like I would do what I can in that respect, but it’s almost like I felt a little bit insecure going into this because I really wanted to protect the character and as someone who has won an Emmy for doing the voice of Bobby I went back to feeling brand new.”
Adlon goes on to say, “This isn’t doing a reboot for the sake of doing a reboot, it’s new and it’s authentic and it’s landing the way you would really hope King Of The Hill would be taken care of!”
Also, while at San Diego Comic Con we had a chance to tour Hulu’s King Of The Hill activation and they did a tremendous job! We had a blast, specially creating our own trucker hats, chowing down on some amazing BBQ and of course washing it all down with an ice-cold Alamo (water)!
Fans were greeted with a full-blown slice of Texas life and we are still smiling like Bobby at a steak buffet!
Whether you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer to Arlen’s charm, the King of the Hill experience at Comic-Con 2025 was a heartwarming, hilarious, and delightfully weird celebration of one of TV’s most beloved animated families.
We’d rate it five propane tanks out of five.
