Age of The Nerd
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are back — and the friendship mayhem is just getting started! Apple TV+ has officially dropped the trailer for Season 2 of Platonic, the critically acclaimed comedy that stole our hearts (and made us laugh out loud) with its debut season. Mark your calendars: the hilarious half-hour series returns on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with a double-episode premiere, followed by weekly releases leading up to the finale on October 1.
From the brilliant minds of Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco — who co-create, write, and direct the series — Platonic Season 2 finds besties Sylvia (Byrne) and Will (Rogen) tackling even more grown-up drama: think relationship meltdowns, work chaos, wedding madness, and all the messy mid-life moments in between. They’ve always been each other’s rock… but let’s just say, rocks can sometimes cause a little damage.
Joining the fun this season are returning cast favorites Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, plus a fresh slate of scene-stealing guest stars including Aidy Bryant (SNL), Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Milo Manheim.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Point Grey Pictures, the show boasts an all-star team behind the scenes, with Byrne, Rogen, Stoller, Delbanco, Evan Goldberg, Conor Welch, and James Weaver all serving as executive producers.
It’s a big year for Rogen and Byrne on Apple TV+. Rogen also headlines the smash-hit series The Studio, which just made Emmy history with 23 nominations — the most ever for a freshman comedy! Meanwhile, Byrne continues to shine in the dark and twisty fan-favorite Physical.
With Platonic back in action and the streaming giant’s growing collection of acclaimed originals (hello Ted Lasso and CODA), Apple TV+ proves once again it’s the place for must-watch comedy.
Let the friendship drama begin — Season 2 of Platonic is almost here, and it’s bringing the laughs in full force!
