Age of The Nerd
Amazon Prime Video has dropped the official trailer for Gen V Season 2—first revealed at San Diego Comic‑Con (SDCC) 2025—alongside confirmation that the series will premiere on September 17, 2025, releasing the first three episodes immediately, with the rest following weekly through October 22.
A New Era at Godolkin University
The trailer picks up after Season 1’s explosive finale: Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), Jordan Li (London Thor & Derek Luh), and others awaken imprisoned in Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center. They’re mysteriously returned to a transformed Godolkin University, now ruled by Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater), who has implemented a Hunger Games–style militarization of supes, complete with gladiatorial training and suppression of powers via colored collars.
Honoring a Legacy: Andre’s Absence Addressed
The death of actor Chance Perdomo in March 2024 led producers to decide against recasting his character, Andre Anderson. The trailer directly addresses Andre’s absence through his father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), who appears grieving and furious—demanding answers about his son’s fate and unleashing a magnetic pulse in anger.
Crossovers and Hidden Programs
Notably, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and Black Noir II (Nathan Mitchell) cross over from The Boys, weaving the shows closer than ever. The trailer teases “Project Odessa”, a clandestine program tied to the university’s founder, Thomas Godolkin (played in flashbacks by Ethan Slater), implying rising stakes—and the potential for Marie to evolve into a power greater than Homelander himself.
Cast & Creative Team
Returning cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann. New additions include Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher and Ethan Slater as Thomas Godolkin. Sean Patrick Thomas (Polarity) is now a series regular.
Under the leadership of showrunner Michele Fazekas, Season 2 continues with executive producers Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and others.
In summary, the Gen V Season 2 trailer sets the tone for a darker, more politically charged season: a militarized campus under autocratic influence, emotional fallout from a main character’s absence, crossover with The Boys, and the promise of deeper mystery tied to Godolkin’s original purpose. With a premiere just weeks away, fans are gearing up for what looks like the boldest season yet.
