Up to this point, Warner Bros./DC have been pretty tight-lipped about the upcoming Aquaman film. After abruptly pulling out of this year’s Wonder Con due to speculated cold-feet, we have yet to see a trailer or even a teaser of the next film in the DCEU slate. But we finally get a closer look at the film thanks to images released by EW. In these series of images, we get a first look at The Fisherman King played by Djimon Hounsou (who has also recently joined the cast of DC’s Shazam!), Aquaman and Mera on land and a better look at Aquaman’s kingdom of Atlantis. Due to the timing of these images being released and San Diego Comic-con right around the corner, something tells me that a trailer may come very soon and it’s very likely to happen next week at Comic-con. According to the SDCC program for July 21, WB Pictures has a panel going on in Hall H but with a “TBA.” It’s very possible that DC may surprise SDCC attendees with a look at Aquaman.
Aquaman hits theaters December 21 and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Michael Beach, and Ludi Lin.
